Wild Oasis & Treetop Drop
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay invites explorers of all ages to Wild Oasis, an immersive, kid-friendly adventure realm designed to entertain, educate and inspire! Multimedia immerses guests in the sounds and sights of the rainforest, anchored by the newly themed drop tower Treetop Drop. Custom media on either side of the tower shows one of three dynamic animal stories synchronized with the motion of the gondola. New music and sound effects throughout the realm come together with the vibrant placemaking to take family adventures to new heights!

The centerpiece of the Wild Oasis transformation is Treetop Drop, a family drop tower refreshed with two massive LED screens that flank the ride structure. Spinifex Group was tasked with creating three distinct, randomized ride sequences to accompany the ride featuring a Harpy Eagle, Jaguar, and Monkeys. Stories and flows were designed to accentuate the thrills and motion of the gondola. To ensure the experience felt both fun and authentic, we collaborated closely with the park’s animal experts to ground our stylized animations and stories in reality. Beginning with storyboards and continuing into final production, we reviewed our content through POV mockups within a 3D model of the space, aiming to synchronize every wing beat and pounce to the physical "drops" and "climbs" of the tower, heightening the fun and thrill with our storytelling.
In addition to the ride video content, we defined the sensory identity of the entire land by composing a custom musical theme along with a rich tapestry of sound effects. This signature score acts as the rhythmic heartbeat of the realm, heard throughout the walkways and adapted dynamically to fit each of the the unique stories of the three different animal scenes on the ride. Audio and video media all worked in harmony to create a cohesive, high-energy environment for guests of all ages.
