GSX Portals & GSX360
Interactive Wayfinding Portals at GSX FY18 recognized attendees, revealed their progress during the event, and provided directional recommendations for next steps
The GSX360 VR Theater used immersive VR to tell the story of Cisco’s charity work throughout the world
The Right Direction
Interactive Wayfinding Portals allowed attendees at GSX FY18 to tap their conference badges and step into a portal displaying their name, profile photo, home region, and their engagement level progress projected onto the floor in front of them. Before leaving, guests were given personalized recommendations for next steps, complete with arrows pointing them in the direction of the recommended engagement based on the orientation of each specific portal on the show floor. The portals could also be taken over for show-wide messaging, highlighting major events and telling attendees when the show was closing each night.
These portals proved to be a massive success, delivering content the attendees cared about in a fun and unique way. Attendees were lined up waiting to use the portals from show open to close, and it was a common sight to see friends competing and laughing while seeing who had the highest engagement progress level.
Additionally, Spinifex created the GSX360 VR Experience. GSX360 consisted of a circle of swivel egg chairs, each holding Samsung Gear VR devices with a custom VR experience highlighting the charity work Cisco does to give back to communities around the world.
